Quality Teaching in a Culture of Coaching ReviewWhen I became an instructional coach I thought it would be easy, but reality soon set in. Barkley will guide you through his three step coaching model that is comprised of: the pre observation conference, the observation and the post observation conference. The book provides an excellent rationale for the method and clear instructions for carrying out the method in a way that is both friendly and helpful. The agenda of the teacher who has asked for coaching is always in the forefront with the method.

The previous reviewer implies that the concept is without weight, yet a careful read of this book shows that in reality our children are inundated with multimodal texts throughout their lives. Therefore it is the responsibility of a good educator to teach them how to negotiate and make sense of those texts. This is not to say that print texts are obsolete. Print texts are just part of a larger set of texts we face in today's world.
