Crash Course in Love ReviewI finished this book in about 2 1/2 hours (rented it from my local library) and I am very happy with the results. I've read other dating books ("He's Just Not That Into You", "Don't Be That Girl", and "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man") and while they're good, there have been things in those books that I don't agree with. This is a book where I believe that Steve and JoAnn really hit the nail on the head. I think we are so consumed with hanging onto dates that don't give us females the time of day, and also over-texting and giving out too much information on a first date. This book really takes it back to the way dating should really be. My favorite line was about not being picky, but knowing what you want subjectively. Also, I love how they talk about not devaluing yourself. It's definitely a confidence booster for those females who wonder what they're doing wrong. It's hard not to read this book and go, "Oh, i've done that...oops." and learn from your mistakes. Anyway, this is a great book and I will definitely reccommend it to all of my friends.Crash Course in Love Overview

Victorya takes her secrets to a new level. I already had my "list" of what I looked for in a husband, but with her guidance was able to finely tune it. I think we women can sometimes struggle in keeping our boundaries these days and she not only encourages us to set firm boundaries, but gives us advice on how to keep those boundaries up! We all have an idea of what our future husband will be like. Victorya's technique helps to make that image more concrete for not just us, but for our "cheerleaders" as well. I'm the type that doesn't like to ask for help, but Victorya has shown me that getting people involved in my relationships (a no-no in the past for me) will help me keep my focus and keep me from being heartbroken by a man not worth keeping. Her book not only gives enlightenment and encouragement, it gets the reader to look more deeply into their own past, present, and future relationships (through journaling) as a means of healing, self-evaluation and preparation for finding their "man worth keeping." How to Make a Man Fall in Love with You: The Fail-Proof, Fool-Proof Method ReviewAs a person who loves the dating/relationship genre, let me assure you that there are MUCH better books out there. This book repackages the techniques usually recommended to salesmen--mirroring the other person in order to build rapport, and "speaking in their language." And that's exactly what you'll be doing--selling a falsified version of yourself in a marginally effective and pretty awkward way. (In spite of her exuberantly triumphant intro, Tracy Cabot is now divorced. I imagine it was hard to sustain this manufactured "bond" for very long.)
If you really want to learn about love languages, "The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman is much better. It will teach you how to truly interpret and sincerely relate to expressions of love between you and your boyfriend/girlfriend/partner. And if you want to make a man fall in love with you, "Why Men Love Bitches" by Sherry Argov is hands-down the best. It takes the also-fabulous prinicples behind "The Rules" (which have worked for me beautifully) and makes them practicable for the modern and/or professional woman. (I highly recommend The Rules--loosely interpreted--as well). You can read any of these books in 2-3 hours. I have read the latter two more times than I can count.
If after reading Why Men Love Bitches and The Rules, you haven't solved your dating problems, you probably need to read "He's Just Not That Into You"--which is not about dating as much as it is about recognizing the excuses women make for men when the truth isn't what we want. (Gems include "No, he's not too busy to call you. Calling you takes less time than going to the bathroom. If he's into you, calling you is the bright moment in his otherwise busy day.") This should definitely help build the correct mentality for expecting--and getting--both interest and great treatment from men.
And, finally, "What Southern Women Know About Flirting" has some tips and ideas that will help anyone, but particularly those inclined to play the "Damsel in Distress" card. This one's just the icing on the cake.How to Make a Man Fall in Love with You: The Fail-Proof, Fool-Proof Method Overview

Get In Her Mind, Get In Her Bed ReviewThis book is terrible. I'm not saying this because I have my own book to push or because the teachings didn't work for me. I'm saying this because it is a poorly written book with very little useful information. I have some educated friends who never learned to write or speak proper English. The authors of this book are no different. I am patient and understanding with my friends because they are not writers. But the authors of this book are actually selling a product that is a written work. I can't believe someone would sell a book without proofreading it. Absolutely horrible! They should be ashamed of themselves.
The title seemed so promising too. I wish I could steal the title and write my own book that actually told you how to get into a woman's mind and into her bed. But this book is more like a guide to become better-than-average with women without any predictable results. Seriously, here is a quick synopsis: use confident body language, wait for a woman to send "yes" signals to you (I can't believe it either), introduce yourself, build sexual chemistry. That's it.
They mention NLP, but they never actually TEACH anything about NLP other than to mention the three different ways to process information and the general concept of anchoring. I know this sounds accusatory, but it seems like some average guys (the authors) read the back covers of a bunch of books, wrote a few paragraphs each, threw them together in an unorganized fashion, repeated information over and over to make the book longer, added some drinking games and recipes to make it longer, and then printed it without even proofreading.
