Hypnosis for Beginners ReviewI've read several of Dylan Morgan's books (and many books on hypnosis, from Erickson to Yapko to Newton), and his are consistently excellent- lots of information on the workings of the mind from both a practical and neurocognitive perspective. Dr. Morgan strikes me as a client-centered practitioner with efficacy and the client's best interests at heart. His down-to-earth, conversational style and clear writing are easy to digest, but much is learned. You will reap the benefit of his many years of experience- he demystifies much of the hypnotic process and yet approaches the work with respect/reverence. The NLP Coach: A Comprehensive Guide to Personal Well-Being & Professional Success ReviewSince `our habits determine our future' a lot of self-help revolves around changing our habits (not so easily done.) I like this particular book because it doesn't present NLP as an easy fix but instead they take quite a bit of space to explain how we think and act in habits and patterns. The authors then offer NLP techniques to help change your patterns until you develop new habits. As in all self-help there's not really much new here and anyone who has read Tony Robbins will be familiar with most of the concepts presented. It's a good book, though, and very useful for understanding the development of habits and cycles. The Science of Influence: How to Get Anyone to Say "Yes" in 8 Minutes or Less ReviewI was extremely captivated by Cialdini's Influence: Science and Practice, which is one of the best read book ever on the subject of influence. i have read many other influence and persuation books since. this one is the best, and should be a requiered reading to extend the original cialdini's book. while cialdini's book is more simple and clear with the 6 weapons, this one is more rich and expanded to various details of the influence.
Basically, the book is about how people react to certain situation and how we can maximise our effort. people are more emotional rather than rational. how the same offering can be arranges to be more attractive. Each technique will yield a lot of success if we can smartly apply it to our daily life.
Hogan took a lot of various sources materials and put them together, along with his own research, into this wonderful book.
If you are a salesperson, negotiator, leader, or person with anything to do with people, you should read this and try out some of the techniques explained.
My book has been read and re read and flipped and marked, and i have used a lot of the materials for my seminars, and i still love this book and re read it often.

The Secret Language of Business: How to Read Anyone in 3 Seconds or Less ReviewKH writing style is clear. He gives interesting examples and even throws in humor, occasionally. What he also is good at is marketing and hype. Consider that the first 15 reviews are all 5 stars. All unbiased and unsolicited I am sure. Aren't you?
Reality: the book is barely over 200 pages. It is suppose to be about nonverbal language in business, but the chapter starting on page 155 is about parenting, and there's little else of value to follow. A book on nonverbal behavior is full of illustrations and pictures, right? Nope,
not this book. It is 100% words. A book about the power of nonverbal signals doesn't use a single nonverbal signal itself, except for the cover--big eye, wide pupil--to get you to buy. That is what is most important, right?
Not one footnote. Want to read the study yourself? Doubt the correctness of his generalizations? Too bad for you. The only reference in the entire book is to an article on his website; however, the content posted is about a different topic. Specifically, he makes this huge claim that he has "made hundreds of thousands of dollars" by just choosing to sit on the right hand side of right-handers, and then references an unrelated article. Hummmm. Really believe all those 5 star reviews? Then buy this book.
If you want an alternative, I suggest Allen and Barbara
Pease's book, The Definitive Book of Body Language. It is full of illustrations and pictures, 400 pages, at the same price.

The Nonverbal Advantage: Secrets and Science of Body Language at Work (Bk Business) ReviewAuthor Carol Kinsey Goman has added another remarkable achievement to her already significant reputation in the business world with her "must have book" on communications, "The Nonverbal Advantage: Secrets and Science of Body Language at Work". She demystifies some of the basic elements of everyday business communication with a well-written breakdown of human interactions dealing with body language. The book not only teaches but also enlightens the reader about what they and others are unconsciously communicating with their eyes, hands and feet positions and other body gestures and movements.
The book is written for the business world but what you learn can be applied in your own personal life as well. The first thing that you realize is that it is very difficult to fake and manipulate what your body is going to communicate. The book will not be very helpful for those seeking to learn how to use body language to give different or false messages than are in your heart. The book does give you greater insights on how to read others at meetings, or in one-on-one-situations. In some cases, this book will act like a Rosetta Stone for those who are clueless as to what the body is saying about each of us.
Goman uses wonderful personal examples that are easy to identify with. The reader will be able to recognize themselves and others as she takes them through a learning experience that will enrich their work and personal lives. The book is well written and easy to read. I could see this book being used for groups and companies as part of any communications-training program.
This book will change you and alter the way you look at people. It will make you think and reflect and perhaps wake you up and change how you perceive others and yourself. It is a profound work that is scientifically grounded and not some new-age feel good effort to say what has already been said. This book manages to break some new ground while pulling together lots of known and accepted theories of nonverbal communication.
This book receives my highest personal endorsement and recommendation. This book belongs on every serious business manager's office shelf.
